Origin and ownership
Lift Foils was founded in 2018 by Nick Leason in Puerto Rico. The brand pioneered the production eFoil segment and grew through 2019 to 2022 as the segment expanded.
Lift has stayed privately owned. Production has stayed in Puerto Rico.
Design philosophy
Lift eFoils use modular board, mast, and foil-wing construction. Multiple board sizes and foil-wing options give cross-discipline use across touring, freestyle, and surf.
Lithium-ion battery pack with quick-swap design.
Used-market notes and known issues
Battery pack replacement at 5 to 7 years is a $3,500 to $5,000 cost item.
Mast and foil-wing service interval is 100 hours; replace bearings as preventive.
Saltwater storage requires fresh-water flush of the motor and pylon after each use.
Dealer network concentrated in coastal-luxury markets; service depth varies by region.
Resale
Lift holds resale tightly in the eFoil segment. Three-year depreciation runs 18 to 25 percent on Lift3 hulls. Battery pack age is the dominant secondary-market variable.
Where Lift Foils fits
Buyers cross-shop Lift against Fliteboard, Waydoo, and Audi e-tron eFoil on the production eFoil segment. The argument is the original-eFoil heritage and the largest battery and foil ecosystem.
