The brand has been publicly traded since 2015 and produces hulls at the Vonore, Tennessee facility. The lineup runs from the NXT entry through the XT25 family wake flagship and XStar wakesurf.

Origin and ownership

MasterCraft was founded in 1968 in Tennessee, originally focused on tournament water-skiing. The brand grew through the 1970s and 1980s as the slalom-ski segment expanded.

MasterCraft Boat Holdings went public in 2015 (NASDAQ: MCFT). Production has stayed in Vonore, Tennessee. The brand also owns Crest pontoons and Aviara luxury day boats.

Design philosophy

MasterCraft hulls use direct-drive (ProStar) or v-drive (X and XT series) Indmar inboard rigging. No outboard or sterndrive variants.

GenX surf system is the brand's wave-shaping argument. Port-and-starboard ballast tanks plus surf gates create the wakesurf wave shape.
